Anza-Borrego Desert: North Fork Arroyo Salado - North Hwy

length 2.5 mile (the loop) - 1 hour, 15 minutes (Return trip). Easy.
Elevation 680 - 920 feet
Access Park roadside at mile 37.2, just past the wash crossing (stone walled).

A short scenic walk in to the wash up to a slick rock fall.

The wash narrows and is rather colorful .
Mostly firm sand, slick rock and some sand.

From the parking, hike north, a small sandy wash leads up a small hill. (at this point the Arroyo Salado wash that flows under the road is on the left)
Over the hill, hike right up to the end of a small canyon.
Hike down the narrow canyon that leads into the Arroyo Salado Wash.
In the main wash, hike right (north), a couple of narrows and the hike ends at a slick rock fall.
