Anza-Borrego Desert: California - Jasper trail Loop

Rating *****
Length 6.3 mile (return) - 2 Hour, 35 minutes (return trip). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 2500 - 4240 feet
Access High clearance only. On the S22 (Montezuma valley road), between marker Mile 7 and 7.5 take the dirt road signed Jasper trail, drive for about 2 mile until the road dips into a wash.

At the small parking, hike further along the road.
Watch for California riding and hiking signs.

Take the California left (south), the California is very faint, we are not even sure if we stayed on the trail all the way.
Eventually the trail ends up on the Jasper trail.

The exit is a small sandy wash heading North.

Catclaw is the only problem in this wash, even after the 2012 fire.
Try following the wildlife trails, they are very good.

At two places you will encounter some small boulders, but the trail is pretty obvious.

Close to the car the canyon gets steeper with some huge boulders, find the trail on the right side of the canyon, a bit steep at times, but good.
