Anza-Borrego Desert: Rockhouse Trail East Loop

Rating *****
Length 5.4 mile (return) - 3 Hour, 10 minutes (return trip). Moderate (boulders).
Elevation 960 - 1730 feet
Access Sometime deep sand, 4x4 recommended. On the S 22, close to mile 26, take the Rockhouse Canyon TL.

Boulder rich canyons, nice in the flower season, only for adventurous hikers.

Follow the GPS route crossing a couple of dry washes, some rocks.
Once at the canyon entrance still some sand but gradually more small boulders.

Once up the more sandy "Bowl" explore and head East and than North over the canyon wall and find the least steep way down.

The canyon down has a lot of boulder drops, a good thing we go down.
Looking back it was like did we came out of that canyon?

Warning:
The road is rocky at first and you may hit soft sand further on. Road conditions vary a lot, one year it's most cars other years it's 4x4 only.
