Anza-Borrego Desert: Third Crossing Wash

Rating *****
Length 6.4 mile (return) - 4 Hour (return trip). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 1150 - 2070 feet
Access High clearance, 4x4 advised, drive up to the summer gate or third crossing.

An interesting hike in and what looks like one of the wetter washes.
The wash starts out real easy, an occasional boulder, for at least an hour in.
As the wash widens, the wash gets less distinct, the best small wash is in the North side of the wash.
Gradually the wash gets filled with more boulder and rocks.

Lavender is the only bush that blocks your path at times.

We stopped at the Fork, at this point the wash is a small boulder wash.

How to get here:
Drive up Coyote canyon, to the summer closure gate and park, at this point the road gets slightly more interesting, more rocks and a bit rougher. We parked just past third crossing.
Warning: The road past the gate can be good or real bad, third crossing can be only a small creek easy to pass as in 2013 and 2014, but may be hard to cross in other years.
