Third Wash
Anza-Borrego Desert: Third Wash

Rating *****
Length 10.6 mile (return) - 3 Hour, 50 minutes (return trip). Easy.
Elevation 330 - 770 feet
Access 4x4 preferred. On the 78, close to marker 87, turn north on a dirt road (Buttes Pass road), follow the signs Butte Pass.

A nice winding sand/mud wash, probably named after Patton's Third Army.
The wash ends before the cliffs, east of Fonts point.

How to get here:

On the 78, close to marker 87, turn north on a dirt road (Buttes Pass road), follow the signs Butte Pass and at the San Felipe Wash, go to the other side and head left, find the sign Cut Across. This is Third Wash, park when the road leaves the wash.
