Anza-Borrego Desert: Yaqui Meadows - Glorietta Wash

Rating *****
Length 9.4 mile (return) - 4 Hour, 30 minutes (return trip). Moderate.
Elevation 1000 - 2400 feet
Access Most cars. From Borrego Springs take the second dirt road after the bend (start counting beyond mile 9), at the end of the dirt road, turn right again. Park after about 1.5 mile from the asphalt.

This hike follows a wash South/West, takes right forks, ends up in a small wash and eventually enters a Glorietta wash.

Head East until you meet a wider sandy wash.
Turn South/West, at the next fork (Fork 1) the most obvious choice is keep on going. Next keep right at the fork and go over a wall that divides the washes.
Go South, some boulders and probably the largest obstacle a small fall.
After the fall (fall 1) keep right (West) at the fork. At the steep fall (fall 2) keep right in a less obvious smaller wash with some boulders.

The next fork (fork 2) is even less likely, keep right, the wash is so faint that you seem to go cross country. Over the saddle the sandy Glorietta wash is below.
Explore, it's not impossible to go all the way down (but somewhat risky) in the canyon wash, it will get even steeper further on. Make sure you can make it back, before you go down one of those large boulder falls.

We went back mostly the same way we came in.
