Anza Borrego: Carrizo Canyon East Fork Loop

Rating *****
length 8.1 mile (round trip) - 4 hour, 40 minutes (round trip). Moderate.
Elevation 1000 - 2060 feet
Access High clearance 4x4, See below.

A hike up the Carrizo Canyon East Fork, loop further east head close to the rail road and head back along a couple of palms.
At point "Up Fall" a rather imposing dry fall, but it's fairly easy to go up on the right side, next to the fall.
This is an impressive canyon, with some boulders and dry falls and level washes.

How to get here:
Take the signed exit Carrizo wash, close to mile 48.5. Drive the wash road for about 4.3 mile and take the short dirt road to the left after the road dips into the wash.
Expect soft sand in some years, mixed with some rocks, normally any high clearance 4x4 should be able to make it to the trail head.
