Elevation 4020 - 5150 feet
Access All cars, On the S22 (Montezuma valley road), between marker Mile 7 and 7.5 park close to the entrance of the signed Jasper Trail..

This hike explores the terrain towards the Thimble peak, but loops back before reaching the actual peak.
See it as a template for a hike, opportunities in this area are endless.

The hike starts and ends at the marked California trail.
Most of the hike is completely cross country, but surprisingly good, whenever possible the route follows wildlife trails.
The only obstacles are Chamise scrubs that are growing back strong, all of them found at the beginning of the hike.
You might think, this is going to be a bush walk, but that's only a short stretch. Further-on the terrain is much opener.
Enjoy the terrain, excellent views and plant-life.

Look at the elevation map, this hike goes up and down and sometimes rather steep.
