A loop hike in North Palm Wash and Grave Wash.
From the North Palm Wash, go up a rocky drainage towards a mesa.
Now go south/east over a narrow ridge, eventually entering a fork of the Grave Wash. The wash if rocky at first but gradually more sandy.
Once in the main Grave Wash hike left (west), heading up the wash on or next to the road. This is the off road area, but in this part only on road travel is permitted.
The road ends at a barrier, but it's easy to drive further, so some do.
At the end more and more rocks and scrambling up a drainage, eventually meeting the North Palm Wash.
Go down and follow the wash south towards the car.
How to get here:
Only try this with a high clearance 4x4.
Take the Calcite dirt road, close to mile 38.
If you are unfamiliar with the road, walk the short stretch before you drive down.
Once in the wash, turn right (east) and drive down the South Palm Wash.
Now leaving the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and entering the Truckhaven off road area, continue on the road.
After just over 2 miles, at the first intersection turn left (north), now re-entering the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Keep driving while keep on the right main wash road, drive up to point "park", or as far as possible, it gets rocky on this wash road..
