Elevation
2380 - 3050 feet
Access
Park on the S2 at mile 26.1, roadside on an asphalt parking spot.
A small impressive canyon, with a large variety of flowers and plants.
Start hiking North and follow the small sandy wash uphill.
Some small dry falls, but this is one of the few trails with some maintenance.
At the first Fork keep left over the rocks.
The next Fork, keep right.
At first mostly footprints, later on, more and more hoof prints. We spotted 2 deer further on in the mountains near the mines.
Watch for morteros in the canyon.
The only obstacle is a larger dry fall.
You can climb it right of the fall or go back a bit and hike up the canyon wall.
On top of the fall you find a couple of morteros.
