Anza-Borrego Desert: Coachwhip Wash

Rating *****
Length 2.2 mile (return) - 1 Hour, 10 minutes (return trip). Easy.
Elevation 1000 - 1460 feet
Access Take the marked exit Coach whip canyon (small sign) and drive the dirt road up to the fork and park. (0.7 Mile)

A short and beautiful canyon hike.

At the fork take the left fork, going north.
The road is still there, so you could drive further on.

The hike starts out real easy, but gradually there are more rocks and small boulders.
The drops may make you turn around for a real easy hike.

Further on, the canyon looses some of it's beauty, as is turns into a gravel wash.
Hike as far as you can.

Named presumably after milkweed.

How to get here:

Take the marked exit Coach whip canyon (small sign).
Drive the dirt road up to the fork and park. (0.7 Mile)
I've seen street cars on this road, it's a bit sandy, but it should be OK.
