Rating *****
Length 2.5 mile (return) - 1 Hour, 15 minutes (return trip). Easy.
Elevation 980 - 1330 feet
Access The wash is opposite the Arroyo Salada campground entrance, signed Coachwhip Canyon. Any car with some clearance should be able to drive the road.

Start hiking uphill in the sandstone canyon.
The wash has lots of small forks.
We follow the main wash according to the topo map.
At the end we go over the dike, a bit slippery over the small dike.
On the other side is a slightly longer wash.

Hike the wash up to the end and scramble up to the top.
On top you see a branch of the Smoketree Wash.

Named after Ella Calvert, the wife of the parks first full time supervisor.

How to get here:

The wash is opposite the Arroyo Salada campground entrance.
The wash is signed Coachwhip Canyon.
Drive up to point Park, that's the first major branch on the left.
But there are a lot of branches in this wash.
