Anza-Borrego Desert: Rockhouse Canyon

Rating *****
Length 6.2 mile (return) - 2 Hour, 25 minutes (return trip). Easy.
Elevation 890 - 1640 feet
Access On the S2, mile 48.5 turn into the Carrizo Creek wash and drive for about 2.7 mile. An AWD is recommended, I've seen regular cars on this part of the road.

At point park hike into the canyon on the right side of the road.
At the second car barrier, foot travel only, follow the sandy road.

Best to keep closer to the fence and keep left of it.
The rock house is at the end of the sandy part of the canyon.
Right of the rocky canyon, should be easy to spot, look for the pipe and some brown wooden poles.

How to get here:

On the S2, mile 48.5 turn into the Carrizo Creek wash.
Follow the Carrizo wash (well marked) for about 2.7 mile and park on the right side of the road.
The wash road is a bit sandy, but as easy as it gets. An AWD is recommended because of the sand.
But that said, I've seen regular cars on this part of the road.
