Anza-Borrego Desert: Inspiration point to below Fonts point

Rating *****
Length 8.7 mile (round trip) - 3 Hour, 45 minutes (round trip). Easy.
Elevation 1200 - 750 feet
Access Most cars, when driven carefully (soft sand), exit wash road marked Fonts Point 4 miles.

A hike with awesome views.

The hike starts in a small wash close to the unmarked inspiration point.
The map indicates a peak, but from this direction it's really hard to spot the highest point.

At this point going down looks tricky, head head North East until you see the small wash going downhill (west).
The way down is real easy to hike down and back up again.

After a while a dirt road, but there is hardly any traffic, we didn't encounter anyone on this hike.
At point X Small wash, we took a shortcut to get to the other side. This wash is probably impossible to find without a GPS.
This is also the most difficult part of the hike, as it involves a short scramble up a to a saddle.

At the end of the hike you end up close to the cliffs just below Fonts Point.

Hike back to the car.

Warning:

Be careful when crossing the mud-hills, there may be hidden caves underneath.

How to get here:

Take the "road" marked Fonts Point 4 miles.
Most cars should be able to make it up to the trail head. But be aware of the soft sand if you don't have a 4x4, stay on the road, if in doubt, check the road first (on foot), before you drive any further.
