Anza-Borrego Desert: Chimney Rock Loop

Rating *****
Length 5 mile (return) - 3 Hour (return trip). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 4100 - 5300 feet
Access All cars, On the S22 (Montezuma valley road), between marker Mile 7 and 7.5 park close to the entrance of the signed Jasper Trail.

Cross the road going North/East and pick up the California trail.
Follow the California trail for about 300 Yards and head North.
You have to find the right route around scrubs, but after a short while the terrain opens considerably and you get more sand.
Chimney rock is in the corner of the park, hard to miss

Head North for the next peek, a climb up the sand and a nice pile of boulders to climb on.
Great views from above on a clear day.
Note: Hellhole canyon is right below.

For the return hike we headed a bit East, following some washes, still fairly easy with some small boulders.
