Third Wash Loop
Anza-Borrego Desert: Third Wash Loop

Length 9 mile (return) - 3 Hour, 35 minutes (return trip). Easy.
Elevation 300 - 650 feet
Access 4x4 preferred. On the 78, close to marker 87, turn north on a dirt road (Buttes Pass road), follow the signs Butte Pass.

The hike start at the end of Third Wash.
Instead of hiking up Third wash, head North/West, after reaching the smaller wash, head North. This in an unnamed wash between Big Wash and Third Wash.
Follow the winding wash, up to the end, the terrain is slightly hilly, now head North/East up to the top.
Next follow a ridge up to point "Wash", this is one of the forks of Third wash.
Follow Third wash all the way back.
Third wash, may be named after Patton's Third Army.

How to get here:

On the 78, close to marker 87, turn north on a dirt road (Buttes Pass road), follow the signs Butte Pass and at the San Felipe Wash, go to the other side and head left (west), find the sign Cut Across.
This is Third Wash, park when the road leaves the wash.
