Anza-Borrego Desert: First to Zero Crossing

Rating *****
Length 5.5 mile (Round trip) - 2 Hour (Round trip). Easy.
Elevation 800 - 990 feet
Access Most cars, up to point "park 1", see below.

A hike that is interesting after sufficient rain or in the wildflower season (February - March). There was water flowing at First crossing at the date of the hike, so this was a must do hike.

Normally this is a very dry wash, only interesting in the wildflower season.

A car shuttle hike is a good option from "Park 2" to "Park 1".

How to get here:

Drive up Coyote canyon, past signed "Desert garden", park just before the road dips into the wash (First crossing), or at "Park 2".
Most cars should be able to drive up to First crossing, but don't go down into the wash below.
That said, road conditions can change dramatically after rain.
