Anza-Borrego Desert: Bisnaga east
||6.6 mile (Round trip) - 3 Hour 40 Minutes (Round trip). Easy/Moderate.
||1000 - 1967 feet
||All cars, roadside, see below.
An area named after the California barrel cactus, probably the best variety of cacti in the Anza-Borrego desert.
This scenic hike is surprisingly easy, but hard to follow without a GPS.
Every time you think the wash ends, there it is again.
Expect a sandy wash with occasional rocky stretches.
At the point were the route loops continue as far as you like as the boulders will get more frequent and bigger.
If you continue the loop, the hike is more cross country and a notch more difficult and classified as moderate.
Hike counter clockwise.
How to get here:
All Cars, close to mile 37.3, take the signed (Bisnaga) dirt road. Drive for a couple of yards and park.
