The hike goes up Cottonwood Canyon a nice and easy walk, mostly sand with some rocks.
Catclaw is the plant to watch out for and navigate around.
It's fairly easy to cross over and follow Salt Creek down. This is sometimes a more narrow drainage.
Along the route the maps shows a couple of tunnels, that are generally mines.

According to the map we used the route is in State Park (tiny stretch) and BLM. That means there is still a small change that (part of) the route is on private land.
