Anza-Borrego Desert: Marty Minshall - Los Vaqueros loop

The hike follows the Cuyamaca Reservoir maximum fill outline, the terrain is woodland and grassland.
Eventually looping back along the East side of (Little) Stonewall.

Follow the well signed Marty Minshall trail towards Los Vaqueros Horse Camp.
Turn left (east) on the wide Soapstone Grade Fire Road, at the next fork, right on Stonewall Creek.
Next take the small Vern Whitaker trail, turn right (North) on the California Riding and Hiking, up to the Los Vaqueros trail, now head left (West).
Turn right (North) on Los Caballos that heads back towards the parking.

Note:
The Lake Cuyamaca reservoir is generally only a small lake, but will swell considerably in a wet year.
In wetter years the trail may be very muddy especially at the start of the hike.
Trout Pond without Trout and it's (no longer) a Pond .
Lake Cuyamaca is the only San Diego lake that is able to stock trout all year long.

Warning: Hunting occurs on the trail on Wednesday and Sunday.
