Anza-Borrego Desert: Pinyon mountain Nolina loop

Access S2 exit Pinyon Mountain area.

This is an adventurous hike in the upper Nolina canyon wash.
From the parking hike down the Nolina wash, encountering a couple of dry falls, some rather steep, but no climbing skills needed.
There is a steeper fall when the canyon forks, go back and hike west around the fall.
Go down the Nolina wash as far as you like, but the there is no easy route down this wash.

Loop back in the westerly minor fork with some small boulders, no dry falls in this fork.

How to get there:

On the S2 close to the park boundary sign (mile 21), take the exit marked Pinyon Mountain area. Immediately keep right on the Pinyon Mountain road (Pinyon Mountain Valley).
Drive for 5.7 mile on a rugged 4x4 dirt road, some ground clearance is essential. Next drive down the Nolina wash (left) for 0.3 mile and park at the end of the road.
