Anza-Borrego Desert: San Felipe Valley Wildlife area loop Middle

Access S2, parking at the gate.

This loop explores the wildlife area, it route follows old dirt roads and goes cross country.

This is a GPS only loop.
Wildlife is very good in making hiking trails, so the route follows them whenever possible.

At one point crossing over from one wash to another, the hiked goes cross country in terrain covered by chemise.

Note:
The area is closed from June 1st to August 31st.
A CDFW Lands Pass must be carried by each visitor, cost about $ 5 a day or about $25 for a year (2018).

The closed area on the map isn't very clear. This hike should stay within the allowed area, but that might not be the case.

Along the S2, at a small parking next to a gated dirt road.
