Anza-Borrego Desert: Big Wash North loop

Rating *****
length 8.8 mile (round trip) - 4 hour (round trip). Moderate.
Elevation 100 - 630 feet
Access High clearance 4x4 only, See below.

This route follow a forks of Big Wash, crosses Gravel Wash, goes over some badlands hills entering an unnamed wash.
Follow this unnamed wash upstream heading west, keeping mostly to the right
The canyon narrows and at some point it's wiser to go further on the mesa.
Looping back at point "Down" on a sandy ridge/drainage, this is the only moderate part of the hike.
Now follow the wash east, completing the loop.

It will be almost impossible to follow this track without a GPS.

How to get here:
From the Salton City Arco gas station head North on highway 86.
Take the exit "Vista Del Mar" "Coombs", not a well maintained road, immediately turn left and now enter the wash heading west underneath (bridge) the highway.
Past the 2 highway bridges turn 45 degrees out of the Grave Wash and follow the pole line road heading North/West.

At point 'Big Wash' (unsigned) head South/West in a more narrow sandy wash with some rocks and park at point 'Park'.

Warning:
This may not be the best place to be in Weekends and Holidays, even thought there isn't much opportunity to drive cross country.
We encountered no traffic so far.
