This hike explores the area just west of East Butte.
The small wash leads to the Junction Goat Trail and Blow Sand Canyon.
Next take the narrow wash/canyon close to East Butte and head towards the Visitor Center.
Turn North/East in a wash that narrows into as a rough rocky wash.

Cross over the closed off dirt road and enter another canyon/wash.
It's steep, find the best spot to enter the canyon wash.
An optional detour visits a small soft sand spot, a magnet for botanists.

How to get here:

On the 78, take the dirt road opposite the Desert Ironwood Resort (north).
Park at point "Park".
Warning: Soft sand might pose a problem for some cars. The safest place to park is close to the 78.
