The hike follows some of the many drainages forming Military Wash.
One of the striking features are the Hilaria rigida, Big galetta lining the wash.
On the way back the hike goes over a salt area and you can see why it's called Military Wash.
The wash digs deeper into the soft sand, creating an interesting wash.
Warning: Watch out for off road traffic.
Ammunition is supposed to be removed from this area, some may still be close or at the surface, be careful.
How to get here:
Take the 'Butte Pass' road and turn right on the first crossing towards 'Butte Pass', keep on going passing 'Goat' and 'Hawk Canyon'.
Once in the San Felipe wash, turn right (south/east) following the wide San Felipe wash down.
