Anza-Borrego Desert: North of Canebrake loop

Rating *****
length 5 mile (round trip) - 3 hour, 30 minutes (round trip). Moderate (Steep boulders).
Elevation 1000 - 1700 feet
Access All Cars roadside.

Explore a canyon north of Canebrake.
Hike along the hill and you will end up in a canyon with a partially sandy wash.
Try to keep as far away as possible from private properties.
At the fork turn right (North) and follow the canyon wash.
The return route leads over a ridge. Once on the ridge the hike is easy again, until going downhill into a drainage, filed with some rocks and boulders.

In our first try we wanted to avoid private property:
The hike starts along a hill to stay in BLM, stay well North and East of point "Edge BLM".
This is an interesting steep slippery stretch to avoid private property.
Once in the sandy wash (BLM), follow the wash up to a fork.

Note:
Please respect private property. We did our research, checked several databases and the route should be in BLM, but it is not guaranteed.
