Anza-Borrego Desert: Rockhouse Canyon South loop

Rating *****
length 6.4 mile (round trip) - 3 hour, 30 minutes (round trip). Moderate (steep).
Elevation 890 - 2025 feet
Access Most cars (soft sand 4x4 high clearance may be needed), See below.

A scenic hike up Rockhouse canyon, following two south forks.
The first part is easy in a sandy wash, entering the second south fork, things get more interesting as the wash narrows.
More boulders and eventually it's easier out of the wash, heading for a saddle.
Om the other side it's slightly going down, but steeper farther on, expect rocks, boulders and scrubs.

How to get here:
Take the signed exit Carrizo wash, close to mile 48.5. Drive the wash road for about 2.8 mile, just beyond the unmarked Rockhouse canyon.

Warning:
Generally the wash road is good, with a low amount of small rocks, but once in a while filled with soft sand.
