The hike follows some of the many drainages forming Military Wash.
One of the striking features are the Hilaria rigida, Big galetta lining the washes.
On the way back the hike goes over a salt area and you can see why it's called Military Wash.
Warning: Watch out for off road traffic. The area west of Military road is supposed to be closed to off-road traffic, part of the hike is east of the Military road.
Ammunition is should have been removed from this area, some may resurfaced, be careful.
How to get here:
Take the 'Butte Pass' road and turn right on the first crossing towards 'Butte Pass', keep on going passing 'Goat' and 'Hawk Canyon'.
Once in the San Felipe wash, turn right (south/east) following the wide San Felipe wash down.
