The hike heads cross country along the 'resort' towards a spring.
Loops back along an old dirt road and eventually heading back following the sometimes rocky Salt Creek.

According to the map we used the route is in State Park (tiny stretch) and BLM. That means there is still a small change that (part of) the route is on private land.
Marker "Park 2" is an alternative starting point, only a few feet from BLM.
