This is a loop hike starting at the West Mesa fire road.
Hike up the fire road and disregard any other roads.
At the Fern Flat exit, keep following the West Mesa Fire Road.
At a crossing the West Mesa trail continues straight on as a much narrower trail.
Disregard the Monument exits.
Going down follow the West Side Trail towards Highway 79.
Hike along the Visitor Center entry road and turn left on the Cold Stream Trail.
