Anza-Borrego Desert: Willow Spring Loop

Rating *****
length 4 mile - 2 hour, 45 minutes (Loop). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 3200 - 3940 feet
Access Most cars.

This is a nice loop that starts easy on an old, no longer in use dirt road leading into a canyon.
Eventually leave the nice trail and head down into the canyon. The canyon over time (after a fire) is filling up with (no problem) Ambrosia salsola salsola | Cheesebush and (problem) Senegalia greggii | Catclaw acacia.

Expect a couple of short stretches with small boulders and rocks.

Willow Springs, still holds a willow but no detectable water.

Warning: The route is to the best of our knowledge all in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, except maybe the actual Willow Spring.

How to get here:
Take the Old Wilson Road (dirt), this is a reasonably maintained road and follow the main (widest) road.
