A hike along the California Hiking and Horse Trail up to Johnson Canyon.
The first part of the route follows dirt roads along private properties.
Take the wash and an unused forest road, that is sometimes overgrown by scrubs, up to the PCT.
Follow the winding and winding PCT up to the exit with the California Riding and Hiding trail, marked water.
The California Riding and Hiking is a more straight dirt road, later on called California Hiking and Horse Trail.
The GPX file contains a shortcut, on a faint dirt road, that shortens this long hike considerably.
How to get here:
On the 79 exit close to mile: 45.7, take the the Chihuahua Valley Road (asphalt) and drive for 6.4 mile.
In the bend, keep following the asphalt and stop at the gated dirt road, marked California Hiking & Horse Trail.
