There is more than one way to get to the peak, this is the most scenic and not difficult.

Head for the Hual-Cu-Cuish sign and follow the Milk Ranch Road. Turn left (south) on the Azalea Spring Fire Road. Next take the first trail(Conejos trail) to the right (south). Follow this very scenic but sometimes rocky trail uphill.

At the asphalt, turn right uphill to the peak.
The actual peak is outside the park and the location for a communication tower.

Now head back along the asphalt.
Take the Azalea Glen dirt road to the left, go downhill and at the crossing go down, following the dirt road towards the campground.
Turn left (north) over a small foot bridge on Azalea Glen and after a short while turn right on the Azalea Glen Loop.
On the next crossing keep left on the Azalea Glen toward the California trail.

Turn right on the California and eventually go cross country over a meadow (may be wet, keep left and go around it).
The creek crossing is slightly challenging as the water is deep enough to get your shoes wet, but there is some wood to step on.
Now follow the trail to the right (north / east).

The GPX file included two alternative routes.
A1 Less asphalt, slightly longer towards Azalea Spring.
A2 An easier creek crossing, when it's wetter in the cross country grassland area.
