A nice hike along old dirt roads, with a lot of shade.
Start at the Nature Center and head South uphill (Santa Ysabel Loop).
At the crossing head north on the Coast to Crest Trail.
Loop around until you reach the unmarked San Diego River (probably dry).
Head back and turn left (West) at the "roundabout" on the Santa Ysabel Loop heading towards the Nature Center.
Alternative, included in the GPX file a slightly longer route:
From the Nature Center head north/west on a connector to the Coast to Crest trail.
After reaching the Coast to Crest trail, turn right (south/east) uphill, connecting with the Santa Ysabel Loop.
Warning:
Out of season the gate to the Nature Center may be closed, use "Park 2".
How to get here:
Close to the intersection of the 78 and 79 in Santa Ysabel, the Santa Ysabel Nature Center along the 79.
