Oak Grove Loop

Rating *****
Length 6.2 mile (Loop) - 3 Hour (Loop). Easy.
Elevation 2750 - 4200 feet
Access All cars, see below

A loop hike that follows the signed Oak Grove Trail and loops back along the Oak Grove Truck Trail.

Warning: Loop counterclockwise. Just before the end there is a private property gate with a "no trespassing" sign on the other side of the fence.
There are no signs on the trail we took.
We doubt you can close a well-established truck road, but it keeps out the cars that want to get into the National Forest.

We have added a steeper A1 route to the GPX file that avoids private property. However, the route is very direct, so it is sometimes steep and slippery.
It might be better to hike the A1 route clockwise.

How to get here:
On Highway 79, park near the Oak Grove fire station across from the campground.
