Anza-Borrego Desert: Camels Head West Loop

length 5.5 mile (the loop) - 2 hour, 30 minutes (Loop). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 720 - 960 feet

A badlands hike following a wash (no vehicle) parallel to Fish Creek Wash.
Finally a more rocky wash up East Mesa.
Across the flat East Mesa down Camels Wash and loop back to the car.

How to get here:

Take Split Mountain Road for about 8 miles.
The wash road is sandy with some rocks.

When you see the wind cave sign on the left side of the wash (after 5 miles), stay in the same wash by staying slightly to the left.
Don't take the first north fork to the right, but keep left.
The wash you are entering may be marked South Fork.
Continue about 3 miles past the unmarked Camels Head Wash.
