This hike follows a branch of Coyote Creek to the Borrego Sink.
Along the way, you will pass the largest population of Neltuma odorata, or honey mesquite, found in the Anza-Borrego Desert.
Many of the honey mesquites are dead or dying due to the drop in groundwater and the shifting of the creek.

Warning: You may encounter off-roaders of all kinds.
Water tends to go underground, making many holes that can reach up to a meter deep.
