Anza-Borrego Desert: Plum Canyon

Rating *****
length 15 mile - 3 hour 20 minutes (Round trip). Easy.
Elevation 2200 - 2700 feet
Access Off Hwy 78 close to mile 74. A good dirt road for all cars most of the time, (check at the visitor center at Borrego Springs) leads to the trail head.

At the junction take the right fork. Park at or close to the trail head of the California riding and hiking trail.
A short stretch uphill 1/2 Hour for a good view of earthquake valley below.
Over the "top" you can continue on the CRH trail as we did on a nice and easy trial along the valley.
Make sure as you go downhill for a short while and as you hit a wash, cross the wash almost immediately and don't go on the wash down to the village below.
The trail is good, rocky on the first part, but mostly firm sand that makes hiking fairly easy.
