Anza-Borrego Desert: Slot Canyon Trail

Rating *****
length 2.8 mile - 1 hour 15 minutes (one way). Moderate.
Elevation 680 - 1020 feet
Access All Cars, all paved. On the 78, close to marker 87, turn north on a dirt road (Buttes Pass road) and park. With a high clearance car drive to the parking next to the slot canyon (keep left on the crossing).

Start at the beginning of the dirt road, or with a high clearance car start at point [9].
Head north on the dirt road and at [2] keep left at the crossing.
Before entering the Slot canyon, head northeast, following a path along the canyon on a rim trail until point [5].
Head back to crossing [3] and turn right down into the Slot canyon [6].
This first part is not so impressive, but after 200 feet, it turns out to be an impressive canyon, narrow with walls going strait up. Zigzagging further down the very narrow canyon up to point [8].
