Anza-Borrego Desert: Wilson Trail

length 4.4 mile - 1 hour 40 minutes (one way). Moderate.
Elevation 4270 - 3940 feet
Access All Cars, all paved. On the S22 (Montezuma valley road), between marker Mile 7 and 7.5 on the south side there is a dirt road with a sign: Jasper trail, park at the small parking area.

If you have a car with some ground clearance, choose the hike Wilson trail.

Start at the beginning of the dirt road, heading south on the Jasper trail.
At crossing [3] head west on the dirt road, reaching the California Riding and Hiking trail at [4] go south.
Leaving the dirt road, follow the CRH trail until reaching another dirt road (Old Culp Valley Road) and head east downhill the dirt road.
At point [6] a crossing, with a dirt road leading to The Slab, keep on the same dirt road (keep left) heading east. After 1000 Feet reaching the signed Wilson Trail head (4x4 parking, reaching this point by 4x4 only, coming from the east on Old Culp Valley Road).

Wilson trail is an old (barred) jeep track, follow it as long as you want.
The 1 hour 40 will not take you to the end of the trail It's 3 hour 40 minutes return from the "Wilson trail" marker.
